Closing Remarks to the IYoG 2022

The UN International Year of Glass ended officially on 8-9 December in the IYOG 2022 closing conference, which NSG Group sponsored as one of the event's platinum partners. Mike Greenall, our CTO, gave a great presenation titled 'Float Glass - Carbon Neutral by 2050', introducing the Group's strategy, initiatives and challenges.

Even though the IYoG has finished, we should continue to be proud of ourselves, as we greatly contribute to the society through our glass products and technologies. Throughout the year we gave examples of our contributions through the monthly articles:

• Green Energy in February
• Displays in March
• Connected Driving in April
• Cold, Heat and Light Control in May
• Speciality Glass Products in June
• Coating Technologies in August
• Safety and Security in September
• Elements of Beauty in Glass in November

The July theme of 'NSG's Firsts' gave various examples of how our Company has brought innovations and new values to the society. We have a great history in the product development. The importance of face to face customer engagement after Covid was re-recognized through the Glasstec exhibition in Germany, experience of which was shared in October. "NSG's Delight in Glass" initiative, which started as part of our IYoG activities, highlighted the value of each individual of the Group. Many video clips, already introducing more than ten employees, have been shared not only on our Intranet page but also in social media externally and on our Corporate website. Hopefully the families and friends of these employees have also enjoyed the movies.

Year 2023 will be here soon. There will be no further IYoG events. However, we will keep doing our best to create innovations to bring new values to the customers and society with pride in our glass and coating technologies, and most notably - in our people. I believe the IYoG reminded me of these foundations. We will continuously move forward with pride as a glass manufacturer!

Finally, my special thanks go to the IYoG core team members for their great contibution during the entire year. They did an excellent job in a cross functional way to create exciting articles. I was really happy to see the "One Team" mindset within the team.
