IFRS Adoption Communications

As previously announced, Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (the Company) is voluntarily adopting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with effect from 1 April 2011.

The Company's IFRS accounts for FY2012 will include IFRS figures for that year and IFRS figures for the year ending 31 March 2011 (FY2011).

In accordance with best practice, the Company is making available a webcast presentation, with recorded explanatory commentary in English and Japanese, to brief all stakeholders on the impact of the Company's transition from Japanese GAAP to IFRS.

The presentation covers the following:

  • the Company's IFRS implementation timetable.
  • an opening balance sheet using IFRS rules as at 31 March 2010, which will be the opening balance sheet for FY2011
  • the impact of the transition to IFRS on the Group's FY2011 income statement.
  • the impact of IFRS on the Group's Strategic Management Plan, which was announced on 4 November 2010.
