NSG Group Celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Rossford Plant
– A City Built by Glass Pioneer Edward Ford –
NSG Group is pleased to announce that the birthplace of our North American business in Rossford, Ohio has been celebrating its 125th anniversary until the end of July.
The community itself was founded by glass pioneer Edward Ford, who named the city Rossford by combining his last name, ‘Ford’, with that of his wife, Caroline ‘Ross’… thus Rossford. From its beginnings in 1898 when Edward Ford created a new “company town” focused on glass making to today, Rossford has been known as a community that families and businesses have proudly called home. From Libbey-Owens-Ford to Pilkington to NSG Group today, we are certainly proud to be part of this community.

A host of events took place for the culmination of the 2023 celebration of Rossford’s 125th Anniversary and NSG Group was proud to be a sponsor for such a momentous occasion. The afternoon of Friday, July 28, featured tours of our Rossford plant and the participants were thrilled and thankful for the opportunity to peek inside the big plant. That night was the official grand opening at the Rossford High School. And Saturday’s (July 29) events included the 125th Anniversary Parade in the morning and concluded with a very special 125th Anniversary Riverfest Celebration that evening.

We have met many retirees throughout the anniversary celebrations and with each discussion, there is a tremendous amount of pride and passion. We appreciate knowing we are here because of the hard work of those that have come before us. What an amazing history that we get to be a part of. "

It is a fabulous story about Edward Ford’s vision to build a glass plant in 1898 on 173 acres of land on the banks of the Maumee River and that the plant is still thriving 125 years later. It is also incredible to think the glass produced in Rossford is now used in automotive and architectural applications in every corner of the world.”
