NSG Group’s Safety Day Activities at All Locations Worldwide
NSG Group introduces as follows our global initiatives in the Group Safety Day held on October 13.
- Approach to Health and Safety
To "respect others and unleash their potential” is one of the core values of NSG Group's guiding principles - "Our Vision", and the Group recognizes that the health and safety of employee is a key focal point of the corporate management in the Group's materiality.
The ultimate goal for the safety is to keep “Zero Injury”
As a glass manufacturer, the Group cannot eliminate employee injuries unless all employees hand the glass as the product correctly. In addition, there are environments in which high temperatures and chemicals are used in factories, and there are many large machines that perform tasks such as cutting, compression, rotation, and conveying. Besides, trucks and forklifts are used to transport products in the facility. For these reasons, it is important to thoroughly implement the correct operation rules to prevent injuries and to raise the safety awareness of all employees working in the Group.
The safety performance is reviewed at the monthly management committee. The group require full reporting of all incidents, no matter how minor, and appropriate investigation to ensure we learn from all such events.
- NSG Group Safety Day (13 October)
The common theme this year was “mental health”. While there are still Covid infections in many countries, we have been through a very stressful time due to the pandemic and the mental health has become very important.
As an example, Japan site invited outside lecturer to hold online seminar on coping with stress and self-care, and also many initiatives were carried out in the Group wide around the world, such as safety trainings, safety awareness, health promotion, and local cleaning activities.
The group will continue to work on to establish the corporate culture and environment which contribute to the sustainable growth of the Group and the realization of employees’ welfare by promoting their health and safety in our workplaces.
