Glass Technology

Supporting leading edge technologies

Pilkington MirroView

Pilkington MirroView™ is an innovative semi-transparent glass for low light applications including video and digital displays. It is ideal for concealing television, video, touch and digital displays screens for commercial and residential applications providing a clean, modern, transitional look.

Pilkington MirroView™ can be used as a traditional mirror with a small video screen concealed beneath. When the screen is turned ‘off’ the product maintains a mirrored appearance. When the screen is turned ‘on’, the picture on the video screen shows through. Pilkington MirroView™ is compatible with all touch screen technologies, making it ideal for smart mirrors. It is very durable and can be easily handled, cleaned, transported and processed. Due to its pyrolytic coating, the product does not degrade over time, providing a virtually unlimited shelf-life, and allowing applications even in a humid environment.

Many devices and technical applications use on-line coated, electrically conductive or low-reflective glass for leading technology and service to end users.

Antimicrobial glass

Pilkington SaniTise™

NSG Group recognizes the world has changed and that health and safety are at the forefront of everyone's mind. In response to these challenges, NSG Group is excited to announce the launch of Pilkington SaniTise™.

Pilkington SaniTise™ is a transparent coated glass aimed at creating a healthier, cleaner, safer world. Naturally activated through UV exposure from daylight, the pyrolytic coating provides antimicrobial properties and activity against enveloped viruses on the glass surface.

When Pilkington SaniTise™ is exposed to natural UV, its antimicrobial activity is significantly increased compared to using uncoated glass.

Verified through independent third-party testing, Pilkington SaniTise™ provides extra protection for any shared/high-touch surfaces that has access to natural UV exposure, such as:

  • Building façades as the IGU's interior surface on any exterior wall system in applications such as schools, hospitals, restaurants, or hotels.
  • Shared transportation such as school buses, trains, shuttle buses, or marine glazings.
  • Exterior shared spaces such as bus stop shelters and zoo enclosures.

Solar Energy

Electric Conductive Glass

NSG TEC™

NSG TEC™ Glass offers a range of low-emissivity glasses utilizing a transparent, pyrolytic on-line electrically conductive coating.
The range consists of a wide variety of thermal and heated glass performance properties, while maximizing light transmittance and optimizing electrical conductivity. The products are specifically tuned to meet the requirements of a variety of applications.

NSG TEC™ Glass is particularly suited to heated glass for commercial refrigeration.
When refrigeration doors are opened condensation forms on the cold inboard lite. By applying a current through the conductive NSG TEC™ coating, heat is generated, and the condensation is quickly evaporated.
