Optical Fiber Fluorescence Detector - Application Examples
Integration into small analyzers
- For automatic DNA analyzers
- For automatic inspection devices using immune reactions, such as ELISA
- Chromatographic measuring instruments, such as paper chromatographs and HPLC
- Cell measuring instruments, such as flow cytometers
Compact automatic inspection device
This detector can measure a sample just by putting its main body in an open space and bringing its probe close to the sample. This facilitates designing around the sample. The detector can also measure samples even under ambient light, eliminating the need to design a dark box. For example, the detector can be used for the following inspection devices and analyzers. |
 |
For automatic DNA analyzers
This detector allows for easy online detection of changes in the amount of fluorescent luminescence at the time of DNA amplification. It also allows for designing of multi-item and/or multi-sample measuring instruments for measurements using the movable probe.

For automatic inspection devices using immune reactions, such as ELISA
This detector allows for easy immunity inspections on traces of samples by letting them react to reagents immobilized to wells, microchannels, glass plates or the like and by detecting fluorescence. It also facilitates designing of multi-item scanning inspection devices. | |

Chromatographic measuring instruments, such as paper chromatographs and HPLC
This detector facilitates quantitative measurements using paper chromatography or LC.

Cell measuring instruments, such as flow cytometers, etc
This detector allows for measurements of yeast and other cells. It can realize a compact low-cost inspection equipment as on-site food inspection equipment.

Experiments
- Experiments on traces of samples
- Experiments to follow a reaction over time
- Experiments involving fast reactions
- Micro and high-sensitivity measurements in microchemistry chips
- Experiments on DNA chips and other array chips
- Experiments that cannot be conducted in dark rooms
Even in a bright room, this detector allows for high-sensitivity measurements of a small amount of sample just by bringing the tip of the probe close to the sample. It also provides stable measurements as a portable detector, and can be used for the following experiments, for example.
Experiments on traces of samples
This detector allows for high-sensitivity measurements of a sample of 1 µL or more. It can also be used for droplets on glass plates and experiments using 384-well plates and 1536-well plates. You don’t have to take out the sample, as it can be measured just by bringing the probe close to it.

Experiments to follow a reaction over time
Unlike conventional detectors that detect fluorescence by dispensing a sample in dedicated containers, this detector allows for online measurements just by bringing the probe close to the reaction field. This allows for observation of a reaction over time.
Experiments involving fast reactions
This detector can take measurements at intervals of 0.1 second and thus can be used for experiments to follow fast reactions.
Micro and high-sensitivity measurements in microchemical chips
This detector is most suitable for fluorescence detection in microchannels. Its setting options allow for measurements in channels with a depth of 40 µm and a width of 100 μm.

Experiments on DNA chips and other array chips
This detector allows for quantitative measurements just by scanning array dots.

Experiments that cannot be conducted in dark rooms
This detector allows for measurements even in a bright place. You can take measurements while following reactions, taking notes or doing another experiment.
Production line inspections
- Inspections to check for bearing grease
- Inspections of adhesive application in cell production processes
- Inspections of printed matters
Even in a bright room, this detector allows for high-sensitivity measurements of a small amount of sample just by bringing the tip of the probe close to the sample. It also provides stable measurements as a portable detector, and can be used for the following experiments, for example.
Inspections to check for bearing grease
This detector allows for micro and high-sensitivity measurements. This enables detection of a small amount of grease applied on small bearings, and thus enables online inspections to check for grease on bearings on production lines or during use. |

Inspections of adhesive application in cell production processes
Many adhesives emit fluorescence. By utilizing this nature, this detector enables automatic in-situ inspections to check for incomplete application of adhesives, for example, in cell production processes.

Inspections of printed matters
This detector can also be used for inspections of printed matters.
