AGM ( Absorptive Glass Mat ) Separator
|
AGM (Absorptive Glass Mat ) is a non-woven fabric made with glass microfiber. It has been available for more than 30-years and has been used in VRLA batteries world-wide. |
 |
Characteristics
NSG has a variety of AGM grades uniquely designed for different VRLA applications and manufacturing demands.
In general, AGM has the following characteristics :
Absorbency:
Because AGM is highly porus ( 90-95%, @20kPa ) that can absorb more acid. Additionally it has small pore sizes to maintain electrolyte levels in the battery.
Durability:
Because AGM is highly resistant to battery acid, oxidation and heat, and can maintain its shape and strength after prolonged exposure of sever environmental conditions.
Applications
AGM is the best for the retainer mat for VRLA batteries.
